Behind
"Fingerprints in Frost" and the short story, "Winter's Returning"
by one of the authors

One spring, God gave me a Bible verse and showed me a lie I often believe in regards to that truth, and I tucked it away, knowing it belonged to a future story.
That May 2024, I met Kellyn Roth who mentioned she was going to organize an anthology of short stories by contributing authors. I excitedly felt that I should ask local writers if they wanted to work on their own stories alongside me. God gave me the first scene and character name for a story, and I approached my friend Chloe Field; we soon began to discuss the idea of cowriting the story together.
I'd never seriously done a project alongside another writer, so we prayed about it, and I asked her to pick her character's name so we could consider the idea. The names matched perfectly. Thus, Chloe and I met to brainstorm, with nearly no ideas to begin with, God knitted together a story based on Chloe’s childhood memories in the Adirondacks, and my life growing up on a farm, and our study of Galatians at their local church. It resulted in Winter’s Returning—the story of a tight-knit family on their farm in upstate New York as their church discovers the radical grace of the Gospel, and it will either draw the family and church together or tear it apart.
The results blew us away! God gave us so much grace as we wrote together, tackling hard topics which would have been difficult alone. Our two-fold personalities, tastes, and convictions merged perfectly to create a more complete story than we could have written by ourselves, and somehow, our styles blended as well.
Additionally, as we read the other stories in the anthology, we realized how beautifully God wove each story in Fingerprints in Frost together to display His love and faithfulness in the hard things of life. Somehow, these stories of grace complemented one another... even before the other authors met. This collaboration was a lovely example of God drawing together people from across the world to serve and honor His name through little, wintery stories.
